What to expect at WWDC 2025

Apple kicks off its Worldwide Developers Conference on Monday morning with a big keynote address — and as with every Apple event, there are plenty of reports and rumors around what will be announced.

WWDC is generally focused on software, not hardware, so you can be sure there will be a new version of Apple's iOS mobile operating system. Reports suggest this update will have elements modeled on the interface of the Apple Vision Pro. Apple might also announce a new app dedicated to gaming, new AirPod features, and an Apple Pencil upgrade.

However, WWDC might be light on the topic dominating most other tech conferences: namely, AI. We'll be covering the event in detail, so be sure to check out our reporting Monday morning.

KiranaPro might have been hacked: The grocery delivery startup recently discovered that it could not access its back-end servers and that all its data had been deleted from GitHub. While the company blamed a former employee, co-founder and CEO Deepak Ravindra acknowledged that it's too early to rule out an external hack.

Figure AI CEO sidesteps robot skepticism: After recent reports questioned the progress that humanoid robotics startup Figure AI is making with its marquee customer BMW, co-founder and CEO Brett Adcock was interviewed onstage at the Bloomberg Tech conference. Asked about the relationship with BMW, Adcock responded by talking instead about the technical benefits of having robots on the factory floor.

Anthropic's Jared Kaplan lays out the company's AI ambitions: On the latest episode of Equity, Maxwell Zeff interviews Anthropic co-founder and chief science officer Jared Kaplan, who discusses who has direct access to the company's AI models. (Fun fact: Kaplan and I lived in the same freshman dorm.)
